The user is required to follow the guidelines shortly summarise below. For more specific details please read the specific page after logged in. Templates Total RNA: All the standard kits available on the market can be used to prepare the Total RNA. Note: The DNAse treatment is mandatory. The RNA quality and concentration must be controlled on an agarose gel and by optical read. cDNA: The user must provide first-strand cDNA samples, together with their RT-control (e.g. one reaction done without the Reverse Transcriptase enzyme for each sample) to test the presence of genomic DNA. Every common Random Exameres Kit can be used to prepare the cDNA templates. We usually ask for at least 1ug of total RNA in 20ul of reaction and vary the amount of cDNA according to the number of assays we have to test. Sample format cDNA templates must be provided in 0,5ml tubes, labeled with the RequestIDentification number (RID) that the user receives by e-mail after filling the request form. If you fill more than one request for the same project, you can use only one RID number for all the tubes. |
Sample delivery Samples must arrive dry iced and until Friday morning of every weeks. A copy of the request form, the agarose gel picture and the optical read must be sent to the Service together with the samples. Assays choice The tool “Search your gene” helps the users to know if the Service has already tested the gene of interest or not. Moreover you can find a list of ALL the assays available in the “Target Genes Table” page. If none of the genes available at the Service laboratory is interesting for the User, the Staff can order new ones. Housekeeping choice The Service has a list of housekeeping genes (see request form pages) that can be used for the experiments, but every gene homogeneously expressed in the system of interest can be used to normalize the data.
